Videographer in Brussels – Anja Strelec is an independent TV journalist, documentary filmmaker, photographer, camera operator, editor, and coach. She directed and co-directed several awarded documentaries and promotional films.
She is currently working in Brussels on different audio-visual and film projects for film production companies, EU institutions and international organizations, TV stations as well as audio-visual and film coach and consultant for different agencies and EU delegations.
About me
For the last fifteen years, I have been working as an independent TV journalist, documentary filmmaker, photographer, camera operator, editor and coach. I directed and co-directed several awarded documentaries and numerous promotional films. I am currently working in Brussels on different audio-visual and film projects for film production companies, EU institutions and international organizations, TV stations as well as audio-visual and film coach and consultant for different agencies and EU delegations.
Education
I graduated in TV journalism and public relations from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. I hold a master's degree in audiovisual and film production from Paul Valery III University in Montpellier and a master's degree in audiovisual and film directing from ESAV (Ecole supérieure d’audiovisuel) in Toulouse. Committed to continuous improvement, I stay updated on the latest trends and technologies to deliver the best work for my clients.
Experience
I've worked with international clients across Nepal, Argentina, Ghana, Eritrea, Guinea, Bangladesh, Armenia, Georgia, Senegal, Azerbaijan, and Europe. My focus is on social, environmental, and development topics, audiovisual portrait storytelling, documentary filmmaking, and institutional videos. I've also been a film selector, jury member, and guest lecturer at universities, conferences, and festivals.

Native Croatian, I fluently speak English, French and Spanish and have a good understanding of Dutch.
Projects
Throughout the years working in different countries I have developed a network of experienced professionals that work in my team, audiovisual and communication experts, consultants and technicians, bringing the projects to a new level. Our work is always highly appreciated by clients, some of which are UNICEF, UN, EUROPEAN COMMISSION and EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT as well as BBC STUDIOWORKS, BRUZZ TV and different types of NGOs.
Creative work
Over the past 15 years, I’ve directed and co-directed award-winning documentaries screened at international festivals, museums, and TV stations worldwide. As a photographer, I've held group and solo exhibitions across Europe, including recent shows in Rome and Zagreb about the impact of lockdowns. My latest documentary, Where Have All the Smiles Gone, has been featured in 30+ international festivals and won 6 awards. I’m currently working on #Click Revolution, a documentary exploring Gen Z, social media, and politics.
Equipment
Audiovisual and film equipment that me and my team are using is adapted to the latest trends and formats with excellent quality both in image and sound in filming and editing. We use mostly high-quality SONY ALPHA cameras such as SONY ALPHA 1, SONY ALPHA A74, G master lenses, RODE KIT and SENNHEISER audio equipment, RONIN S gimbals, LEDGO lights, DJI MAVIC drones and ADOBE creative suite for editing.
Anja is an experienced, skilled and creative video director who was pleasant to deal with before, during and after our event. She quickly understood our brief and delivered high quality video content exactly according to our specifications, capturing the spirit and energy of the event.
