This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to take a step further in creating compelling videos using professional editing software like DaVinci Resolve, which is completely free to download. It’s open to students, communication professionals, journalists, filmmakers, artists, project managers, and people from other fields – of any age.
The workshop is practical and hands-on, focused on editing two separate videos with the material provided:
• Day 1: Edit a 1-minute video
• Day 2: Edit a 2-minute video
Beyond the technical side, we will also explore the creative aspects of storytelling and learn how to use each shot effectively.
If you want to go beyond social media editing apps, this is the workshop for you. You’ll gain more control over your material, especially if you want to edit interviews, reports, vlogs, improve sound adjustments, or create short documentaries.
In this 2-day workshop, we will cover:
• Day 1:
We start with importing and organizing footage (derushing) on the computer, followed by an introduction to the basics of DaVinci Resolve. You’ll learn how to trim and cut clips, work on basic audio editing, and practice editing on the spot by creating a 1-minute video using the material provided.
• Day 2:
We focus on the basics of color correction, adding subtitles, and importing and working with graphics. You will then edit a 2-minute video built around an interview, applying both the technical and storytelling skills developed during the workshop.

Why This Workshop?
After 15 years of experience in filmmaking, video editing, and teaching diverse groups, I decided to create small-group workshops that focus as much as possible on practical exercises. The goal is that, after the workshop, you’ll have enough knowledge and confidence to start creating on your own.
It’s serious, it’s fun, and it takes place in a welcoming, home-like atmosphere — with good food included.
TRAINER – ANJA STRELEC
Anja is a documentary filmmaker, audiovisual director, photographer, and experienced visual storyteller, working across formats from short social media videos to feature-length documentary films. She has collaborated with various TV channels, the European Commission, NGOs, UNICEF, and Special Olympics among others and her films have been screened and awarded at international festivals.
Alongside her filmmaking work, she leads hands-on workshops that help participants develop their visual voice and storytelling skills. Her teaching style is individual-oriented and practical – so by the end of the workshop, you already know how to confidently use your new skills.
