Francesca comes from Italy. She came to live in Brussels in 2012, where she worked in an Italian bookstore. Jean-Yves comes from Charleroi but has been living in Brussels since his early childhood. They met through a dating app and realized quite soon that they both like traveling.

During Covid, they had an idea to start a project called This Human Tribe, and they started to travel. Their first stop was Asia. Francesca is the writer on the project, writing stories of people they meet and their experiences, and Jean-Yves is a photographer.

They concentrated on slow traveling, putting a focus on ordinary people and not on themselves. Their project is for people who like to read an article for 10 minutes and be immersed in the story and their surroundings through photography.
